Robert Jessep & Partners Ltd is an engineering consultancy based in Horsham in West Sussex, close to London Gatwick Airport.  We specialise in forensic civil, structural and geotechnical engineering, both in the UK and abroad.

In relation to forensic engineering services, the overriding objective of the company is to give clear impartial advice to its Clients and to Tribunals, to assist them with their decisions.

The company is led by Robert Jessep, a Chartered Civil and Structural Engineer who also specialises in Geotechnical Engineering.  Robert is a member of the British Geotechnical Association and the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering: he is a member of the Technical Committee for Forensic Engineering in the latter organisation.

Robert has over twenty years experience in civil, structural and geotechnical engineering design and construction most notably on the Terminal 5 Project at Heathrow Airport, where he was head of Foundations and Geotechnics, and the Dubai Metro Project, on which he was the Chief Geotechnical Engineer.  He has a wide range of experience that includes designing highways, buildings, railways, airports, sports stadia, drainage, underground structures, tunnels and foundations as well as the analysis of complex soil behaviour, soil structure interaction and seismic design.

Robert has acted as an Expert Witness and given evidence in the High Court and other Tribunals including Arbitrations.  He is frequently involved in alternative forms of dispute resolution such as Adjudications and Mediations.

Additional expertise is provided by Ashley Bown.  Ashley is a Chartered Civil Engineer with over fifteen years experience in geotechnical, civil and structural engineering in the United Kingdom and overseas.  His interests and experience include foundation design, structural and geotechnical analysis, soil-structure interaction and the design of underground structures for airport and transportation projects.

Since 2011 Ashley has been involved in the forensic investigation of a wide range of problems in the fields of geotechnical, civil and structural engineering, including advising on remedial works and the preparation of Expert Opinions for court proceedings, adjudications, arbitrations and mediations, and has given Expert evidence in Court and Arbitrations.
